Founder and teacher

Megan

Hi, I'm Megan, founder of Bright Little Sparks! A teacher and mum of three school-aged kids. I discovered the fun and benefit of play-based learning and started BLS to share my educational play ideas for babies through to pre-schoolers. I’m excited to welcome you to the space I wished for when my kids were little!

Teacher

Kitty

Meet Kitty, a mum to three active boys under 6 and a primary school teacher. From managing her wild tribe to energising Prep children, she's mastered engaging kids and making learning fun! Kitty and her sister Megan have teamed up to share their passion for play-based learning with you!

Why Play?

Children are natural explorers, and play is their gateway to learning and growth. Backed by evidence, play-based learning helps children:

  • Develop fine and gross motor skills.
  • Build language.
  • Process complex emotions.
  • Foster social skills.
  • Promote creativity and imagination.

What is sensory play?

Sensory play is any play that stimulates a child's senses—touch, smell, taste, sight, and hearing, to get neural pathways in the brain firing.

Children can explore different textures, scents, colours and sounds in an open-ended immersive way, with opportunities to enhance sensory processing skills and so much more!
